Zoos Victoria released the Don't Palm us Off Trolley Coin Keyring in support of our campaign aiming to change food labeling legislation and raise awareness of the palm oil.
Palm oil is found in around 40% of all food products in Australian supermarkets and the production contributes to the deaths of around 50 orang-utans a week. The Don't Palm us Off Keyring offers a reminder to supermarket shoppers of the link between their purchases and orang-utan survival in the wild.
They have been a fantastic, "easy sell", affordable promotional product for our campaign which was so successful we introduced a new trolley coin keyring for another campaign 'Wipe for Wildlife' which is encouraging the public to switch to recycled toilet paper.

Our first order of 427 coins was such a success that I wish to put in another order just 12 days later. We first did pre orders and also purchased an extra 50 coins on top as we thought they would sell well. I sold 50 coins on my own and am sure this next lot will sell quickly too.

I distributed the trolley coins at our June meeting for committee members to sell and they are now asking for more - I might add that I haven't even had a chance to sell any as they were all snapped up! I think because the idea is a relatively new one and trolleys that require coins are now commonplace, people were happy to buy them not only for themselves but also family and friends.
